Deep red colour. Precise and flattering nose that opens up to notes of black cherries and set with tiny blackberries and elderberry, in a vividness of fruit that is particularly shimmering. A seductive vivacity animates the palate, full and generous, prolonged by a distinctive aromatic persistence.”

This is a positive and forceful effort from Bourgneuf, which tends to produce tannic and rustic wines. The 2012 is neither astringent, earthy nor too rustic. Its deep ruby/purple color is accompanied by notes of black currants, black cherries, cola, forest floor and coffee beans. Fresh and medium to full-bodied with excellent concentration and a nicely textured, clean finish, it can be enjoyed over the next 10-15 years. Drink 2013 – 2028

Mûre, sureau, fruité un peu sauvage, bouche généreuse, veloutée, un fruité assez éclatant, bonne longueur, très baies noires.

Sattes Purpur-Granat, dicht in der Mitte, lila Schimmer aussen. Cassisstauden. Brombeeren, floraler Schimmer, schöne Terroiranzeige. Im Gaumen barock, griffige Tannine, angenehme Aromatik, schon fast erhaben. Ein Pomerol für Kenner. Braucht dabei gut 10 Jahre. (2018 – 2032).

Deep dark cherry colour. Dark, closed coal-like nose. Dark and dry and refined on the palate. Perhaps not for those who like exuberant fruit but I love the restraint and savoury style and dry light-grained texture. Not typically Pomerol? Long silky aftertaste. Like an expensively tailored sober suit. Drink 2017-2023.

Barrel sample. This wine is rich and ripe in style with intense dark-fruit flavors and a bold, chocolaty character. There’s plenty of spice along with spirited acidity, but on the finish, it feels solid, full and a bit chunky.

Round, open and plump in feel, offering cherry pie, raspberry sauce and red licorice notes, with a friendly feel to the breezy structure. A bit shy on stuffing through the finish, but with pretty fruit. Tasted non-blind.
