History and Winery

Château Guiraud is a historic 1er Grand Cru Classé estate in Sauternes, famous for both its sweet and dry wines. The estate was a pioneer in organic wine production in Bordeaux and became officially certified biologique in 2011. Their “G de Château Guiraud” is a dry white wine that expresses the same high quality and terroir as their iconic Sauternes, but in a fresh and modern style. The philosophy is to unite natural balance, biodiversity, and purity of flavor.

Grapes and Vinification

• Blend of approx. 50% Sauvignon Blanc and 50% Sémillon
• Organically grown grapes from Guiraud's own vineyards
• Hand-harvested grapes with strict selection
• Fermented in temperature-controlled steel tanks and oak barrels
• Aged “sur lie” for roundness and complexity

Terroir and Origin

Region: Bordeaux, Sauternes (Graves area)

Soil: Sandy gravel and limestone – provides freshness, minerality, and finesse

The temperate climate and the specific soil around Sauternes give the Sauvignon Blanc its aromatic nerve and the Sémillon its round, full-bodied character.

• Taste: Fresh, creamy, and elegant with notes of lime, pear, vanilla, and light minerality
