Sauvignon Blanc is one of the world's most widespread green grape varieties, and it is behind both sweet and dry white wines all over the world. Sauvignon Blanc is used with great success in France, especially in the Loire Valley, where it is the main ingredient in e.g. Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé, but also New Zealand make great use of the grape.

Sauvignon Blanc is most often used alone, but some producers mix with Chardonnay to give it a little more body. It tastes best when drunk young, but can withstand a little aging.

The grape has a dry, fresh taste and aromatic notes of elderflower, gooseberry and freshly cut grass.
