Vintage: 2020
Producer: Domaine de La Meulière
Appellation: Chablis "Les Larmes de l’Oubli"
Behind the wine name
This Chablis is made from Chardonnay grapes from vines in Fleys by the Serein river, on classic Kimmeridgian-Jurassic terroir. The wine is vinified using whole clusters, fermented in steel tanks, and aged in 228-liter Burgundy barrels for 48 months with spontaneous fermentation, without stirring and without added sulfur.
Color and aroma
The color is deep golden. The nose is initially a bit closed, but unfolds with notes of butter, brioche, honey, and a hint of forest floor and dried fruit.
