The beer was developed on the occasion of the crown prince couple's wedding in 2004, where at the beer festival the same year, in competition with 23 Danish and foreign beers, the beer was chosen as the best beer - and thus was delivered to the Court in connection with the wedding.
In Honey Gold, light malts are used together with Leatherwood honey from Tasmania. Leatherwood honey is one of the most aromatic and flowery honeys, with which, as a flavoring agent, it helps to give the beer a nice rounded taste and aroma.
Won gold in The European Beer Star Award in 2013.
