History and Winery
Baron de Brane is the second wine from the prestigious Château Brane-Cantenac, a 2nd Cru Classé in the 1855 classification. The wine is named after Baron Hector de Brane, who acquired the estate in the 1830s and made the château one of the most respected in Margaux. The second wine was launched to offer a more accessible version of the estate’s style – with the same terroir and know-how, but in a more fruit-driven form that is ready to drink sooner.
Grapes and Vinification
- Blend dominated by Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon – supplemented with Cabernet Franc
- Hand-picked and carefully sorted to ensure the highest quality
- Fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks
- Aged in French oak barrels for approx. 12 months, partially new

Region: Margaux, Médoc, Bordeaux
Soil: Classic Margaux gravel soil with perfect drainage, providing elegance and finesse
The maritime climate with warm summers and cool nights ensures perfect ripening of the grapes, while the terroir highlights Margaux's characteristic floral notes and softness.
