Quinta do Noval – the name alone tells something about a place – a farm – a vineyard. For many port wine connoisseurs, Quinta do Noval is the very soul of port wine.
And the 2016 Quinta do Noval Vinatge is no exception. Wonderful purity and fresh precision of fruit.
Quinta do Noval's name was first registered in the Land Registry Directorate in 1715.
Today, the French insurance company AXA owns Quinta do Noval, which is undoubtedly one of the most famous and best known of all the farms in the Douro Valley.
Quinta do Noval's total area is 145 hectares, of which 80 hectares are planted with vines.
Winemaking at Noval is a combination of modern techniques and old traditions, such as pressing the grapes by foot in large vats.
All the wines are then aged in casks from approx. 2 to 60 years, depending on the type.
