Pol Roger created their prestige cuvée as a tribute to Churchill and the qualities he valued in Champagne: robustness, a full-bodied character, and great maturity.

The exact blend is a closely guarded family secret, but it is indisputable that the wine would be approved by the man for whom it was created: "My tastes are simple; I am easily satisfied with the best."

Dominated by Pinot Noir, which contributes structure, breadth, and robustness, while Chardonnay provides elegance, finesse, and crispness. Blended exclusively from grapes from Grand Cru vineyards that were already planted during Churchill's lifetime.

Cuvée SWC is only produced in the best years and is always released later on the market than the other vintage wines from Pol Roger, in appreciation of Churchill's taste for older wines. The first Cuvée SWC was based on the '75 vintage and released in '84.
