Excellent dry Riesling from this organic vineyard high in the mountains. This year's Riesling is in the same style as 2006 and is fermented completely dry, with hints of beautiful minerals and flint that balance nicely with the refined Riesling fruit.
The wine is made in the style of the dry white wine from Alsace in France, an area that produces some of our favorite European white wines.
We have been searching for a long time for a good winery that makes a dry Riesling, and our search ended when we found the Guinness McFadden winery.
Potter Valley's location has quite cool nights and relatively warm days. This causes the grapes to ripen slowly while developing a lovely, complex flavor.
