The Macallan TIME : SPACE is an exclusive whisky release marking the distillery's 200th anniversary. This unique collection consists of two distinct releases:
TIME : SPACE: This release features two whiskies in an innovative dual-chamber vessel.
1940 Vintage: An 84-year-old single malt, distilled in 1940 and matured in sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks. This whisky represents The Macallan’s rich history and craftsmanship.
2018 Vintage: The first whisky distilled at The Macallan’s new distillery, matured for five years. This release symbolizes the distillery’s future and innovation.
TIME : SPACE Mastery: A complex single malt created by combining 14 different cask types, including European and American oak seasoned with sherry as well as American oak previously used for bourbon. This whisky is presented in a circular decanter that symbolizes the cycle of time and The Macallan’s enduring legacy.
Tasting notes for TIME : SPACE Mastery:
Colour: Warm cherry.
Aroma: Rich notes of Medjool dates, baked figs and rich milk chocolate, accompanied by subtle hints of honey and dried tropical fruit like mango and papaya.
Palate: Sweet with sherry-seasoned dried fruits, orange marmalade and honeycomb. Soft spices like ginger and cinnamon develop.
Finish: Notes of caramelized pineapple and creamy vanilla, balanced with subtle hints of dark chocolate and coffee.
This collection is a tribute to The Macallan’s two-century-long journey in whisky making, connecting the traditions of the past with the innovation of the future.
