LETH XO Sauternes Cask is an exclusively aged rum with an elegant Sauternes finish. The sweet and fruity notes from the Sauternes casks add extra depth and complexity to the rum, while the 42% ABV provides a full-bodied and warm finish. LETH XO Sauternes Cask is a premium rum from the LETH series by Helsingør Spritfabrikker. What makes this edition special is its final maturation in Sauternes casks, which gives the rum a vinous and fruity character.
Sauternes is particularly known for its sweet white wines, and casks from this type of wine can impart aromas to spirits that evoke thoughts of honey, dried fruit, apricot, and vanilla. The result is a rum with a softer and more dessert-oriented style than classic dry rums.

Sauternes is a famous wine region in Bordeaux in southwestern France, known for sweet white wines with great intensity and long shelf life. The wines are produced mainly from Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle, and the noble rot (botrytis) plays a central role in the region's classic wines.
The sweet and aromatic wines from Sauternes provide casks that are interesting for the secondary maturation of spirits. When rum is aged in such casks, the wood can contribute vinous, fruity, and sweet aromas that complement the rum's natural vanilla, caramel, and spice notes.
