The 2016 vintage in Brunello is characterized as one of the best vintages ever. And Poggio Landi produces - if not the best - then one of the best Brunellos you can get your hands on. It often wins cross-tastings among all 137 Brunellos in Tuscany, including for its 2016 vintage.
Chiuso del Lupo is the absolute pinnacle at Poggio Landi, naturally produced from 100% Sangiovese with 38 months in French oak and an alcohol content of 14.5%.
The taste offers a hint of licorice and plenty of blackcurrant, combined with other black/red berries and leather. Deep and with persistence in the finish.
