Barbera d’Alba DOC
Cadia Winery is a family-owned winery located in the heart of the Langhe in Piedmont. With deep roots in the region and a passion for authentic wines, Cadia produces wines that reflect the area's unique terroir and traditions. The estate is known for its craftsmanship, respect for nature, and dedication to creating high-quality wines that honestly represent Piedmont.
Barbera d’Alba is a true representative of the Piedmontese wine tradition and one of the winery's most beloved wines. It beautifully combines the wine's fruitiness, freshness, and balance, offering an authentic tasting experience that the estate's winemakers are proud of. With an alcohol content of a full 15%, the wine is powerful and intense, yet remains harmonious.
Origin:
The wine originates from the vineyards in Roddi, where the specific soil and microclimate provide the wine with its unique character and elegance. The hills surrounding the Cadia estate provide optimal growing conditions for the Barbera grapes.
Grapes:
100% Barbera, hand-picked in the first weeks of September when the grapes have reached their perfect maturity.
Vinification and Aging:
After gentle pressing and destemming, the grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for 10-12 days at 25-27°C. The wine is then aged in stainless steel tanks for approximately 6 months to preserve its fresh and fruity character. The wine is bottled in February and is ready to be enjoyed shortly thereafter.
Color, Aroma, and Flavor Profile:
Barbera d’Alba presents a deep ruby red color with lively violet hues. The aroma is filled with scents of blackberries and plums, providing a first impression of the wine's fruity charm. On the palate, the wine is fresh and medium-bodied with a crisp acidity that creates a perfect balance. The high alcohol content of 15% adds an extra dimension of warmth and fullness to the tasting experience, without compromising the wine's elegant structure.
Gastronomic Recommendations:
This wine is a versatile companion for pasta dishes with tomato sauces, pizza, grilled meat, and mild cheeses. It is ideal as an accompaniment to an informal meal or as a glass on the terrace.
Serving Temperature:
Serve at 16-18°C to bring out the best of the wine's fresh and fruity character.
