2023 Hautes Côtes de Nuits Blanc, Domaine Guy & Yvan Dufouleur
Elegant and fresh Chardonnay from Burgundy – mineral, floral, and perfectly balanced
History and Winery
Domaine Guy & Yvan Dufouleur is a family-owned producer with roots in Nuits-Saint-Georges dating back to 1596. For generations, the family has crafted wines that express the authenticity and terroir of Burgundy with precision and respect for nature. Today, the estate is run by Yvan Dufouleur, who combines classic methods with modern vinification. Their Hautes Côtes de Nuits Blanc is a beautiful example of fresh and vibrant Chardonnay from the high-altitude vineyards west of the Côtes de Nuits – where the climate imparts crispness and energy to the wine.
Grapes and Vinification
- 100% Chardonnay from high-altitude parcels in the Hautes Côtes de Nuits
- Hand-harvested at optimal ripeness
- Fermented in stainless steel tanks and partially in oak barrels
- Aged on the lees for 6–8 months for texture and complexity
- Minimal filtration to preserve purity and minerality
Terroir and Origin
Region: Burgundy – Hautes Côtes de Nuits
Soil: Limestone and clay on high-altitude slopes (350–400 m above sea level)
The high elevation and limestone-rich soil provide the wines with freshness and distinct minerality. The combination of sun and a cool microclimate ensures a balance between ripe fruit and lively acidity – classic for the Dufouleur style.
