Ch. Rauzan-Segla 2015, 2nd cru Margaux
2015 Rauzan-Segla is a blend of 63% Cab.Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 3% P. Verdot and 1% Cab Franc, with a harvest yield of 40hl/ha. It is matured in 65% new oak for approx. 18 months It has an almost crystalline mineral bouquet, with blackberry, heather, flint and a touch of violets. It has incredible linear precision and the new oak is perfectly integrated. In the mouth; medium-bodied, with extremely fine-grained tannin, perfectly balanced acidity, a purity that is otherworldly, and a minerality rarely seen from this estate. It is a truly magnificent wine, although perhaps with not as much power as previous vintages, but on the other hand convinces with its precision, freshness and energy, and perhaps with an even longer-lasting finish. Winemaker Nicolas Audebert has made the most of the surroundings and vintage, and created one of the property's best wines ever! 98p RP, 98p JS.
