Spain has only in recent years been recognized for its good white wines. The Rueda wine district is located in northern Spain and is the most famous area for the production of pleasant and fruity wines based on the Verdejo grape.
The vineyards: The vineyards are located in a microclimate and approx. 750 meters above sea level. The temperature difference between night and day is large, which creates very aromatic and well-balanced wines. The soil conditions are sand, clay and stone. This means that the soil retains the heat of the sun and this improves the ripening of the grapes. The clay in the subsoil results in the humidity being maintained, even during the very hot summers.
The grapes: 100% Verdejo grapes from old vines.
Alcohol: 12.5%
Taste: Viña Sanzo has an aroma of flowers and fennel and tropical fruits. Full and persistent in the mouth with light notes of almonds.
The wine and the food: This wine accompanies very fine fish, such as tuna, monkfish, cod and hake. Also ideal for light meat such as pork or poultry. Serve at 7º-10º.
