Château Bourgneuf is a vineyard of 8.8 ha, and has been owned by the Vayron family since 1840.
With a perfect location on the prestigious plateau close to the old church, the grapes achieve a perfect ripening. The fields are planted with 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The average age of the vines is 40 years, and a single parcel is over 70 years old. Approx. 35% of the wine is aged in new oak for 12-14 months.
The harvest always takes place manually at the end of September and the beginning of October.
Very nice Pomerol which always performs at a high level. The soil's combination of gravel and clay gives the wine its complexity, finesse and strength. The soil in Pomerol is perfectly composed for the Merlot-based red wines.
The fact that the wine is highly acclaimed by the world's leading wine reviewers can be seen below.
