Barolo Monvigliero DOCG
Barolo Monvigliero is a true gem from the Monvigliero hill, which is considered one of the most prestigious “Crus” in the Barolo region. The wine is known for its depth, complexity, and ability to evolve beautifully over time. It expresses its full personality after a few years of bottle aging and appears both elegant and powerful.
Origin:
The vines grow in the renowned Monvigliero Cru in Verduno, situated 310 meters above sea level, which gives the wine its unique character.
Grapes:
100% Nebbiolo, hand-picked from mid-October when the grapes have reached optimal maturity.
Vinification and Aging:
After gentle pressing and destemming, the wine is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for approximately 15 days at 25-30°C. The wine is first aged in steel for 4 months and then in French oak barrels for 36 months, which contributes to its complex flavor profile. The wine is bottled in February, where it continues its development.
Appearance, Bouquet, and Flavor Profile:
The wine has a beautiful garnet red color with elegant violet reflections. The bouquet is delicate and intense with nuances of roses, leather, Earl Grey tea, and red berries. The palate is elegant and well-balanced with tightly woven tannins that provide a full-bodied and concentrated experience. Notes of dark chocolate and a long finish with a hint of licorice complete this refined wine.
