2024 Cantina Valle Isarco, Aristos Kerner, Alto Adige, Italy
Aristos Kerner is a characterful and mineral-rich white wine from Alto Adige in Northern Italy, produced by Cantina Valle Isarco – one of the region's most renowned cooperatives. Kerner is an aromatic grape that here combines with the cool mountain climate and mineral-rich soil to yield a wine with both finesse and depth.
The wine presents itself with a straw-yellow color and greenish hues. The nose is intense and fresh, with notes of citrus, white flowers, ripe peaches, and a light spicy tone. On the palate, the wine is dry, well-balanced, and vibrant, with a clear minerality and a long, elegant finish.
The grapes are hand-picked from steep vineyards at altitudes of up to 900 meters, ensuring slow ripening and concentrated aroma. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, and the wine is aged on the lees for several months to gain complexity and structure.
Serving: 10–12 °C. An excellent companion to shellfish, white fish, sushi, Asian-inspired dishes, as well as dishes with vegetables and mild spices.
