Saxum Vineyards is focused on producing fantastic wines from the grapes Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre and blends from the 3 grape varieties from the Templeton Gap / Willow Creek area in Paso Robles.
The rocky calcareous soil, steep hillsides, sunny days and cool sea breezes lay the foundation for a perfect growth and ripening of the grapes, which further through low yields, harvesting at the optimal harvest time and the minimalist approach in the cellar, results in these beautiful wines.
The land and vineyard are kept sustainably without artificial fertilizers or pesticides. Artificial irrigation rarely happens, as the roots of the vines penetrate so deeply into the chalky soil.
Production is kept at just 3000-4000 cases per year, divided into seven different cuvées:
Broken Stones, James Berry Vineyard, Bone Rock, Booker Vineyards, Paderewski Vineyard, Heart Stone Vineyard and Terry Hoage Vineyard.
