Lillet is classified as an aromatized wine according to EU legislation, and is an aperitif from Podensac in Bordeaux. Lillet is made from 85% wine from the Bordeaux region and 15% mainly citrus liqueurs, made from oranges from Morocco and Spain and skins from bitter green oranges from Haiti. This mix is then transferred to wooden barrels and undergoes vinification like a normal wine. For Lillet Blanc and Lillet Rosé, semilion is used and for Lillet Rouge, merlot.
